Vodafone Idea will also run 2G-3G towers for 4G service, on the way of Airtel

Now Vodafone Idea, the country's largest telecom service provider, is going to shut down 2G-3G towers for expanding its 4G service. Vodafone Idea and Bharti Airtel have decided to challenge the 4G service of Reliance Jio across the country. According to media reports, Vodafone Idea could use the spectrum of its 900MHz for 2G instead of better 4G service. Currently, the company uses the 2100MHz spectrum for 3G service. Vodafone Idea has started preparing for this. The company is currently testing this service in Mumbai, where the 900MHz band is being used for 4G service. Now the testing of this service is being done for Tamilnadu, UP West and West Bengal Circle. At present, the 900MHz spectrum of 900MHz is available in Vodafone Idea and the spectrum of 2100MHz is available in 22 circles. On the other hand, Bharti Airtel is also going to use the 900MHz spectrum for the 4G service in the next three to four months. Airtel is using 900MHz spectrum towers for 2G service, while the 2100MHz spectrum is being used for 3G service. In order to use the spectrum of 900MHz of these two telecom companies for 4G service, the users of these companies can get better connectivity of 4G in the country.
